About Us

The name on
the door is
a real person.

Our logo is the signature of Larry A. Hollar (1936 – 2023) — a true entrepreneur in the home and hospitality furnishings industry, and the reason this company exists the way it does.

Larry was an active outdoor enthusiast who cherished friendships and experiences, and gave back to all using his innovative skills and resources.

He water- and snow-skied, rafted whitewater, piloted airplanes, fished, hunted, camped, target-shot, pulled a bow, and reloaded his own ammunition. In his 70s he completed the Iron Butt Challenge — 1,000 miles on a motorcycle in 24 hours.

Our vision is to honor him by having fun, living life as an adventure, doing things right, and giving back to the community. That's the brief on every job that leaves our shop.

Our vision, in four

Honor Larry. Have fun. Live life as an adventure. Do things right, and give back to the community.

01Have funThe work is hard. The attitude isn't. Jobsites we want to come back to tomorrow.
02Live the adventureEvery project is a new building, a new client, a new problem. We're here for it.
03Do things right"You are only as good as your last install." Quality design and installation matter.

A successful floor
is more than
the floor.

From the first spec conversation through ongoing maintenance, we're the single team on the line. Nine capabilities under one roof — we don't subcontract what we're good at.
01 / 09 Specification support Sitting at the table with architects and designers — product vetting, substrate assessment, and performance trade-offs before the CD set closes. Request support 02 / 09 Fast-track samples Samples on your conference table inside the week — broadloom, LVT, tile, rubber, wood. Real boards, not photocopies. Request samples 03 / 09 Estimating & 3D rendering Line-itemed estimates with visualized finishes in your floor plans. Costs are transparent; revisions are free. Request estimate 04 / 09 Budgeting & reclamation Early budget numbers when you need them. Reclamation and take-back programs for modular carpet, LVT, and rubber when the project allows. Plan budget 05 / 09 Slab preparation Shot blasting, grinding, moisture mitigation, self-leveling. The part that decides whether the floor is still there in ten years. Prep scope 06 / 09 Installation & coatings Our own crews, certified, insured, safety-trained. Coatings — epoxy, urethane, polished concrete — applied and warranted. See crews 07 / 09 Entry systems Recessed grids, walk-off tiles, custom inlays. Where the building meets the weather — the first ten feet that protect the rest. Spec system 08 / 09 Over-slab connectivity Flat-wire, raised access, and low-profile cabling integrations — coordinated with the flooring so the finish never fights the furniture plan. Coordinate 09 / 09 Ongoing maintenance Scheduled buffs, strips, burnishes, and recoat programs. Most floors fail from neglect, not from wear. We keep yours from getting there. Get on schedule

Giving Back

"Give back
to the community."

It's one of the four pillars, and it's not a line item. Where we serve, volunteer, mentor, and donate — openly listed, because the point is the work, not the recognition.

From day one, L.A. Hollar has committed time, materials, and board service to organizations shaping young lives and strengthening the Carolinas — including schools where we've donated flooring outright and civic groups where we show up on Saturdays.

The Bill Guandolo Factor

Named for a friend and mentor who believed a company's worth is measured by who it lifts up along the way. We log a standing percentage of every profitable project into community work — mentoring, donated labor, board service, scholarship funds. The clients whose projects make it possible are quietly part of the impact; we like it that way.
